How does a fancy text generator work?
These are not fonts. Unicode contains separate characters that look like bold, italic, script or gothic letters (the "Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols" block, plus enclosed and fullwidth forms). The tool swaps each plain letter for its look-alike, so the result is ordinary text that survives copy and paste.
Why do some letters show as boxes or look different?
The platform or device you paste into must have a font that includes those symbols. Modern iOS, Android, Windows and macOS cover the maths alphabets well; a few styles (squared, negative bubble) rely on emoji fonts and may vary. If a style breaks, try another one from the list.
Can I use fancy text in my Instagram name or username?
Instagram lets you use most of these styles in your display name and bio. Usernames (the @handle) only allow letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so fancy characters will be rejected there.
Is fancy text bad for accessibility or SEO?
Screen readers often read maths alphanumerics letter by letter, or skip them. Use fancy text for decoration, not for essential information such as contact details, and keep it out of headings you want search engines to index.
